Chemical properties:
Corundum Brown is a loose material which is acquired by gradual melting reduction of bauxites in electrical furnace. The basic raw material for production is calcinated bauxite which melts at temperatures higher than 2000˚C.
Usage:
Corundum brown is due to its characteristic features - high rigidity and hardness - used where there is hard mechanical exertion with whetting, for example while whetting metals (very hard alloy, malleable metal, steel) or when grinding wood. Those features could be used in production of grinding surfaces, abrasive tools and instruments and for blasting methods.
